Amélie Peace (b.1997, Cannes) examines the human condition using wrapped figuration and the construction of ‘intimacy-landscapes’ through painting. Her work explores the sexual, emotional, and social ideologies around touch and physical connectivity, and the complex tension between intimacy and control. Her characters, interlaced with one another, imply a physical dependence that speaks to intimacy’s ability to influence self-understanding. Intentionally ambiguous, the psychophysical dialogues she explores invite interpretation, leaving ample space for individual reflection and emotional engagement. Peace currently lives and works in London, UK.
